Our Vineyard

Meet our Vineyard Manager

Scott Kerridge is a fourth-generation viticulturist on Queensland’s Granite Belt, bringing a lifetime of hands-on farming experience and deep regional knowledge to Meteora. Born and raised in Stanthorpe, Scott grew up immersed in agriculture, working alongside his family on a stone fruit and table grape farm originally established by his great-grandfather and grandfather.

Following the sale of the family farm, Scott continued his journey in viticulture under the guidance of his father, who went on to manage one of the Granite Belt’s most respected vineyards. From an early age, Scott developed a strong understanding of what it takes to produce high-quality fruit in one of Australia’s most challenging growing regions.

Known for his meticulous approach, Scott is a true perfectionist, firmly believing that “close enough” is not good enough. His passion and commitment are reflected in every aspect of his work, from vineyard management through to the final harvest. In addition to wine grapes, his broad farming background includes crops such as broccolini, capsicums, and tomatoes, further strengthening his adaptability and practical expertise.

The Granite Belt’s extreme and unpredictable climate presents both opportunity and risk. Harsh seasons, sudden hailstorms, and rapid changes can test even the most experienced growers. Yet, for Scott, these challenges are part of what makes the region so special. When conditions align, the result is fruit with exceptional colour, flavour, and character.

For Scott, the true reward lies in watching something grow from the ground up and seeing the final product come to life. His connection to the land runs deep, and his belief in Ballandean, the heart of the Granite Belt's potential is unwavering. Through his work with Meteora, Scott is proud to showcase the quality and uniqueness of the region to a wider audience.
